About the role#
This position supports the Public Relations and Development team at Child and Family Services of Erie County. The role focuses on building communication strategies and managing donor relationships through hands-on experience in a non-profit environment. This is an unpaid internship for college credit.
What you'll do#
- Write press releases, media advisories, and articles for the company website and intranet.
- Assist with internal and external messaging and pitch story ideas to the media.
- Create graphic design assets including flyers, banners, brochures, and social media content.
- Support donor prospecting and manage donor portfolios using Raiser's Edge software.
- Help accept in-kind donations to facilitate donor relationship building.
- Organize events, prepare for meetings, and coordinate donation drives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
- Enrollment in a credit-bearing program.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule while working on-site during standard business hours.
