About the role#
This is an unpaid, year-long internship based in Bloomington, Illinois. You will work within our substance use intensive outpatient program, which provides nine hours of treatment each week to adult clients. This role offers hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
What you'll do#
- Conduct case management activities and link clients to local resources.
- Facilitate curriculum-based groups for clients.
- Lead client orientations and individual meetings.
- Complete substance use assessments and screen for social determinants of health.
- Assist clinicians with treatment planning.
- Maintain ongoing communication with collaterals and provide client updates.
- Document services and track client progress.
- Intervene in client crisis situations when necessary.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 21 years of age.
- You are currently working toward a bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
