About the role#
Chestnut Health Systems is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student for an unpaid internship during the Fall 2026 semester. This role focuses on prevention efforts within the community and requires in-person work at the Bloomington, Illinois office.
What you'll do#
You will assist the McLean County Prevention Coordinator with various community-based projects, including Narcan education, BN Parents, and Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC). Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinating training events for the coalition and the public.
- Conducting research on evidence-based practices.
- Developing newsletters and preparing materials.
- Managing social media updates and website content.
- Performing community outreach and collecting or analyzing data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, specifically in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, or Health Administration.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Interest in prevention efforts aimed at reducing underage drinking and drug use.
- Willingness to engage with community stakeholders.
- Experience with recovery is welcome.
