About the role#
As a Security Intern, you will gain insight into how Centrus Energy protects its people, facilities, information, and nuclear materials. You will work alongside experienced security professionals on real-world projects, observing how security, technology, and teamwork function within the nuclear energy industry.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects involving security programs, assessments, documentation, access control, inspections, training, and compliance.
- Organize information to support daily security activities.
- Identify ways to strengthen existing security programs.
- Learn, ask questions, and gain experience in the field of nuclear security.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, or a related field.
- Preference is given to candidates in their Junior or Senior year.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Curiosity, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail.

- Location: Piketon, Ohio.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $25 per hour.
- Status: Paid internship with rolling terms.
- Requirements: This position requires a pre-employment background check, drug test, and vetting to grant access to export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information.
