About the role#
As a Recycle and Assembly Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure projects. You will work alongside managers, supervisors, and technicians to see how engineering design, procurement, and manufacturing come together to support uranium enrichment operations. This role offers exposure to the assembly and delivery of centrifuges while building your technical and professional skills.
What you'll do#
- Assist managers and technicians with the review of design documents and technical documentation.
- Coordinate with quality control, engineering, and assembly teams.
- Track project schedules and assist with project reporting.
- Analyze engineering data, review drawings, and specifications.
- Participate in the manufacture and assembly of centrifuges.
- Evaluate administrative documents against NRC licenses to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Learn the technical aspects of centrifuge design and how they transition into the manufacture of parts.
- Present your key contributions and lessons learned to the team at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor or graduate program in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least one year of college-level coursework in an engineering or related program.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, or PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting.
- Interest in large-scale engineering projects, construction, or industrial facility operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative technical environment.
- U.S. citizenship.
