About the role#
This summer internship offers exposure to forensic accounting and litigation support. You will work alongside senior team members to assist with data analysis and client service. This is a full-time, paid position based in San Diego.
What you'll do#
- Review and summarize federal and state tax returns for individuals and various business entities.
- Support forensic, valuation, and appraisal analyses, including data input for expert witness exhibits.
- Work with the discovery team to inventory and reconcile documents for submission to courts and attorneys.
- Build and maintain relationships with client staff to support their goals.
- Learn how accounting frameworks, tax law, and audit methodologies apply in litigation settings.
- Maintain high standards of client confidentiality and professional conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting with plans to achieve CPA eligibility.
- Strong analytical, research, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task and solve problems independently.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Relevant academic or work experience in accounting, auditing, or investigative services is preferred.
- Participation in student organizations is considered a plus.
