About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027. You will report to a manager while gaining experience in local government auditing. We look for individuals who embody integrity, servant leadership, and a bias for action.
What you'll do#
- Develop an understanding of the audit process for local government engagements.
- Analyze and test key elements of client financial statements.
- Perform testing to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Establish working relationships with client personnel.
- Collaborate with team members to deliver client service.
- Work on a variety of different accounting projects.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status at the time of the internship.
- Current enrollment in an accounting, cost accounting, or auditing program at a college or university.
- Availability to work 40 hours each week.
- Interest in pursuing CPA credentials.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a varied team.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and follow through on commitments.

- This role is hybrid.
- Locations: Naperville, Illinois and Springfield, Illinois.
- Compensation: $29-$30 per hour.
