About the role#
Cor Coffee is the outreach apostolate of the St. John Paul II Newman Center. We help college students encounter Christ. As a Student Barista, you further this mission by making drinks and engaging in conversation with our customers. You will represent the Catholic Church while learning professional skills and participating in a faith-based community.
What you'll do#
- Work at least 5 hours per week.
- Make drinks with excellence and adjust machine settings as needed.
- Train other baristas and provide feedback.
- Maintain an aware and welcoming environment for all customers.
- Monitor inventory and anticipate supply needs.
- Attend a monthly 1.5-hour in-service with the barista team.
- Participate in Christian formation, such as Bible study or discipleship.
- Communicate with the team via weekly GroupMe messages.
- Handle conflict in a healthy way and receive feedback.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate college student.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Punctuality, responsibility, and a diligent approach to tasks.
- Active participation in faith formation, such as spiritual direction or discipleship.
- A commitment to professionalism and the mission of the center.

- The hourly pay is $17.35.
