About the role#
This is a paid, full-time engineering internship based in Guelph, Ontario. You will gain hands-on experience in a food and beverage manufacturing plant by working on various technical projects. The role requires physical activity including bending, lifting, and working in environments that may involve heat, cold, or grain dust. You will receive ongoing performance assessments and have access to development resources, networking opportunities, and mental health support throughout your term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including safety, environmental, maintenance, and operations to understand plant processes and equipment.
- Work on projects related to process efficiency, energy improvements, and equipment reliability.
- Communicate effectively with individuals across various educational levels and backgrounds.
- Interpret and implement government safety and environmental regulations alongside company policies.
- Manage people, processes, and product aspects to implement technical solutions.
- Design and upgrade current systems and maintain plant drawings.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Automation/Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- Ability to complete a 4-month internship starting in May 2027.
- High degree of initiative and resourcefulness when working with limited guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Legal entitlement to work for Cargill in Canada.
