About the role#
Cargill offers an Engineering Co-op program designed to provide hands-on experience in food and beverage manufacturing facilities across the United States. This program focuses on technical and leadership development, allowing you to explore career paths in operations, maintenance, and project engineering. You will gain exposure to both technical tasks and people management within a team-oriented plant environment.
What you'll do#
- Lead production or maintenance teams, project groups, or technical operations teams.
- Engage in Operations Leadership or Maintenance and Reliability Engineering roles.
- Supervise specialized teams related to production and runtime activities.
- Participate in project management responsibilities, including process optimization, budget management, and vendor selection.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations regarding safety, environment, and health.
- Lead planning activities for maintenance, capital projects, and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering.
- A GPA of 2.7 or higher is preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
- Strong initiative and resourcefulness.
- Ability to work in a physical environment that may involve bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to various temperatures or conditions.

- Term: Summer 2027 (part of a 7-8 month co-op duration).
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota (with a requirement to be geographically flexible and willing to relocate to various plant locations across the U.S.).
