About the role#
As an Accounting Specialist, you will join the Finance Development & Accreditation Program (FDAP). This is a full-time, permanent position designed to help you earn your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. You will gain broad experience by rotating through different areas of the Finance department, spending approximately one year in each role. The program provides structured on-the-job training and mentorship to prepare you for a long-term career.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through a minimum of three different areas within the Finance department.
- Participate in the Financial Development & Accreditation Program.
- Take on challenging assignments across the organization.
- Develop skills in financial planning and analysis, corporate tax, operational accounting, external financial reporting, or internal audit.
- Build communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- Completion of all prerequisites required to enter the CPA PEP program immediately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership ability and self-motivation.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Edmonton, Alberta.
- The position follows a hybrid work schedule, with office attendance required Tuesday through Thursday.
- This is a full-time, permanent role.
