About the role#
Capital Power is looking for a Supply Chain Student to join our team for the summer of 2027. This full-time, on-site position in Edmonton offers hands-on experience across purchasing, inventory management, contract administration, and supplier engagement. You will work alongside supply chain professionals to support the procurement of goods and services for our business units.
What you'll do#
- Support purchasing and sourcing tasks, including supplier communication, quote requests, and documentation.
- Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders within ERP systems.
- Maintain inventory records and assist with analysis and reporting.
- Handle contract administration and document management.
- Use Excel and Power BI to prepare and analyze spend, supplier, and procurement data.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and document workflows.
- Conduct supplier research and market analysis.
- Assist with supply chain projects and operational initiatives.
- Resolve purchasing inquiries by collaborating with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and maintain accurate records.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Operations Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- A customer-focused mindset with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Experience with Power BI, data analytics, or ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Infor is an asset.

- Compensation: $36.18 per hour (CSU52 union position).
- Requirements: You must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The selection process includes an education verification, reference checks, and a criminal record check.
