About the role#
As an Investor Relations Summer Student, you will help communicate how Capital Power creates value for investors. You will work alongside experienced professionals to build market and peer analysis that shapes investor messaging. This role offers a view into how a publicly traded power producer tells its story to capital markets and contributes to key business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Research and analyze market, competitor, and industry trends to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Build and maintain peer-tracking analysis by monitoring competitor investor presentations, earnings calls, and messaging.
- Support the quarterly earnings cycle through data updates, collection, and analysis for press releases and investor presentations.
- Assist with the preparation of materials for investor and analyst engagement, such as conference preparation, investor profiles, and briefing documents.
- Maintain the investor meeting record by tracking trends, questions, and feedback from the investment community.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Interest in corporate strategy, finance, capital markets, or the energy sector.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

- Term: Summer 2027.
- Employment type: Full-time, on-site.
