About the role#
Canadian Natural Resources Limited is hiring a Surface Land Student for a full-time position in Calgary. This role focuses on the planning, systems, and processes involved in surface land administration. You will work from the head office as part of a team, gaining experience through daily tasks and specific projects.
What you'll do#
- Help facilitate abandonment and reclamation projects.
- Maintain data integrity and manage surface files.
- Assist with capital projects and learn how surface land impacts the acquisition of wells and facilities.
- Support the third-party process, including managing liability and regulations related to granting consent.
- Assist with procedure reviews and updates.
- Complete ad-hoc projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the Energy Asset Management Program or a related post-secondary program.
- Academic background in Environmental Engineering, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, or Political Science.
- Experience using Accumap, Abadata, and provincial databases.
- A general understanding of the surface lifecycle.
- Knowledge of relevant Acts and Directives.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta.
- Term: Summer 2027 start, with options for 8 or 12-month terms.
- Work modality: On-site, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
