About the role#
The Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin is seeking an Operational Services student for a Fall 2026 placement. You will provide administrative and operational support to our facilities team to ensure our services run smoothly across all office locations. This is an unpaid student placement designed for those looking to complete at least 300 placement hours over a 4-month term.
What you'll do#
- Gather requirements from internal teams for process improvements and cross-functional solutions.
- Assist in the development of an agency-wide environmental stewardship program.
- Conduct regular access card audits and maintain records for office security protocols.
- Create and update internal signage to ensure health, safety, and operational notices are visible.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, including room bookings and setup.
- Support ongoing projects by tracking action items and following up on initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary degree or diploma program in Operations Management, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention skills.
- An openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, and intersectional framework.
- Experience in non-profits, social services, facilities management, or purchasing is considered an asset.
- Ability to travel within the Peel Region as required.
- Successful completion of a vulnerable sector screening and reference check.
Location & details#
- Location: Brampton, Ontario.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Full-time hours with alternating shifts between 8:30 AM and 7:00 PM; some evenings are required.
- Term: Fall 2026.
