Post Secondary Placement Student - Operational Services

About the role#

The Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin is seeking a student for an unpaid operational and administrative placement. This role supports the facilities and operations team to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the agency and the high-quality delivery of services across all office locations. The placement is scheduled for Fall 2026 for a duration of up to 4 months.

What you'll do#

• Support internal teams by gathering requirements for process improvements and cross-functional solutions.
• Assist in the creation of an environmental stewardship program for the agency.
• Conduct regular access card audits and maintain records of staff access and security protocols.
• Create and update internal signage to ensure health, safety, and operational notices are clearly displayed.
• Coordinate internal and external meetings, including room bookings and setup.
• Support ongoing projects, track action items, and provide general assistance to the Operational Services team.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Operations Management post-secondary degree or diploma program.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention skills.
• Openness to working from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, and intersectional framework.
• Experience in operations, facilities management, purchasing, or vendor management is an asset.
• Experience working with non-profits or social service agencies is an asset.
• Ability to travel within the Peel Region and availability for some evening shifts.
• Satisfactory vulnerable sector screening and references.
