Placement Student: Health Information Management

About the role#

The Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin is seeking a Health Information Management student for an unpaid placement beginning in Fall 2026. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Support Services, you will work alongside the Records Management team to maintain the organization's Client Record Management System (CRMS).

What you'll do#

• Store, review, and dispose of client records in accordance with documentation and privacy standards.
• Scan and upload historical paper client files into the CRMS.
• Perform general administrative duties to support team operations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client information.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or graduation from a post-secondary program in Health Administration.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• An openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and 2SLGBTQ+ affirming framework.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across diverse cultures.
• Ability to travel within Peel Region and Dufferin County.
• A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.
• Fluency in a second language, including ASL, is considered an asset.
