    About the role#

    This is an unpaid student placement for the Fall 2026 term. You will work 20 hours per week for a duration of 4 to 6 months, starting in September 2026. The role is based in Brampton and follows a hybrid model, though you must be available for on-site and community presence as needed.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the planning, delivery, and on-site coordination of events, including managing agendas, site preparation, catering, and marketing materials.
    • Develop contingency plans to address potential risks during events.
    • Help raise funds for various programs and initiatives to decrease stigma related to mental illness and addictions.
    • Facilitate CMHA fundraising activities, including tracking and grant reporting.
    • Design and implement stewardship and recognition strategies to ensure timely donor correspondence and updates.
    • Coordinate submissions for fund development and write grant proposals.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a university or college program pursuing Events Management or a related field.
    • Relevant experience in full-scope event planning.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across diverse cultures.
    • Ability to travel within Peel Region and Dufferin County.
