Communications & Social Media Student - Corporate Services

About the role#

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Peel Dufferin is seeking a Communications & Social Media student to support the Corporate Services team. This student placement is designed for individuals looking to complete academic requirements while contributing to mental health awareness and anti-stigma initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaign content.
• Manage social media channels by scheduling posts and engaging with the community.
• Draft and edit newsletters, blog posts, website updates, and promotional materials.
• Support the promotion and coordination of community events, fundraisers, and campaigns.
• Monitor media coverage, draft media releases, and assist with media inquiries.
• Maintain the communications calendar and track campaign metrics.
• Ensure all communications align with organizational brand guidelines.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or completion of post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in marketing or communications.
• Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and graphic design tools.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and intersectional frameworks.
• Ability to travel within Peel Region and Dufferin County.
• A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check).
• Fluency in a second language or ASL is considered an asset.
