Student Project Engineer

About the role#

As a Student Project Engineer, you will support our construction teams in the field and at our main office in Tacoma. You will assist Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Engineers with the documentation and administrative functions required to keep our projects running smoothly. This role offers exposure to heavy civil construction and the opportunity to contribute to significant infrastructure projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with administrative tasks, including collecting timecards and equipment usage reports.
• Help Superintendents prepare daily project reports and maintain accurate job diaries, photograph, and video logs.
• Enter data into project software to track time, equipment, costs, and quantities.
• Support the implementation of site storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP).
• Assist with updating project schedules and documenting changed work conditions.
• Maintain an organized field office and draft routine correspondence.
• Support project health, safety, and environmental requirements.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with computer software, specifically MS Word and Excel.
• A valid state driver’s license and the ability to meet company driving policy requirements.
• Ability to pass a drug, driving record, and background screening.
• Commitment to punctuality and a consistent work schedule.
