About the role#
Butterball is offering a 10-12 week internship for the Summer 2027 term. Based at our processing plant in Huntsville, Arkansas, this role provides oversight, inspection, and guidance for food production processes. You will work alongside our FSQA and Operations teams to ensure our products meet customer expectations and USDA food safety regulations. This program aims to develop future leaders through professional assignments within the manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with FSQA and Operations teams to validate antimicrobial intervention efficacy.
- Identify process improvements and work to improve quality-related parameters.
- Collect data, track quality metrics, and communicate findings.
- Work with laboratory staff to understand sampling and analysis procedures.
- Ensure sample collection occurs according to protocols.
- Record and report data and results.
- Support teams to ensure manufacturing processes remain consistent, compliant, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, biological sciences, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Proficiency in Excel formulas to extract, organize, and report data.
- Technical skills in Word, Visio, Teams, Power BI, and SharePoint.
- Strong interpersonal and relational skills.
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work in various environmental conditions, including cold, hot, or wet areas.
- A valid driver license and reliable transportation.
- Active participation or leadership in a campus or community organization is preferred.
