About the role#
Butterball is hiring an Animal Care and Wellbeing Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This program provides professional development and hands-on experience within the food and beverage manufacturing industry. You will work in Goldsboro, North Carolina, supporting the team that bridges live operations at farms with quality assurance in processing plants.
What you'll do#
- Assist in ongoing trials and projects involving turkeys on farms or in processing plants.
- Evaluate gathered data to help improve management practices.
- Support animal care and biosecurity audits, including audit preparation.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agricultural Business, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments, production facilities, and conditions that may be hot, humid, or loud.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Genuine interest in learning about the commercialization of livestock.
