About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in sales, customer service, and business development within the wholesale building materials industry. You will work under direct supervision to support sales operations, learn retail processes, and gain product knowledge. This role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to retail clients through walk-in visits, phone calls, and email.
- Prepare material estimates and quotes for project-related products like decks, fences, and sheds.
- Enter customer orders into company systems and coordinate delivery schedules.
- Support daily store operations, including merchandising, inventory control, signage, and housekeeping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Communications, or Logistics.
- Junior or senior standing is preferred.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
