About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Management Liability Underwriting Internship for the summer of 2027. You will gain exposure to the daily operations of an underwriting department while working alongside product and claim experts. This program is designed for students interested in building a career in the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Attend educational sessions led by the underwriting team and subject matter experts.
- Set and work toward individual goals throughout the 10-week program.
- Apply underwriting concepts to actual accounts and present your findings.
- Develop and deliver a capstone project to your peers and the underwriting team.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a rising undergraduate junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems using analytical thinking.
- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This internship runs from May 24, 2027, to July 30, 2027.
- The role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, or Newark, New Jersey.
- You must be able to work from these offices without housing or relocation assistance.
- The work schedule follows a hybrid model, with in-office attendance required Monday through Wednesday.
