About the role#
The Design Analysis Group at Mercury Marine is seeking an Intern Design Analysis Engineer to focus on fluid and thermal projects. This position provides hands-on experience applying engineering fundamentals to solve real-world product development challenges. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support the product development cycle from concept to production.
What you'll do#
- Complete 6-8 projects covering various aspects of propulsion systems.
- Use SIEMENS StarCCM+ software to improve the design and development of marine propulsion systems, drive systems, and vessels.
- Utilize GT Suite engine performance prediction software to optimize horsepower and torque for marine engines.
- Analyze how performance curves impact the acceleration and top speed of vessels.
- Collaborate within a team environment to support the full product development cycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS program for Mechanical, Aerospace, Engineering Mechanics, Naval Architecture, or a similar field.
- Minimum second semester sophomore status with at least 48 completed credits.
- Ability to enroll in a formalized co-op or intern program through your university.
- Interest in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and numerical methods.
- Boating, fishing, or marine experience is helpful.

- Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
