About the role#
The Provisional Service Technician Intern program is a two-year commitment designed for students enrolled in a John Deere Diesel Technician associate degree program. You will combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience to master technical concepts. This role requires dealer sponsorship and includes a focus on developing service skills through mentorship and practical application.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training while maintaining a minimum 2.7 GPA.
- Fulfill all internship requirements within the Student Tech program.
- Earn certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service Advisor training.
- Assist senior technicians with daily service tasks.
- Keep your work area clean and organized.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, powertrains, air-conditioning, and electrical systems.
- A valid driver's license.
- An interest in learning repair methods, materials, and tools for outdoor power equipment.
- The physical ability to repeatedly lift at least 25 lbs.
- Enrollment in one of the following majors: Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
