About the role#
This internship is a program for students enrolled in a two-year John Deere Diesel Technician associate degree. You will combine classroom instruction with hands-on work to build your skills as a service technician. This is a full-time, paid position based in Clarkson, Nebraska.
What you'll do#
- Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training.
- Earn certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service Advisor training.
- Help senior technicians with their daily tasks.
- Perform basic service work on equipment.
- Fill out all reports and forms related to your job assignments.
- Maintain a clean work area and track time and materials used.
- Potentially help with the pre-delivery set-up and inspection of new machinery.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- A valid driver's license.
- A solid understanding of engines, hydraulics, powertrains, air-conditioning, and electrical systems.
- The ability to lift at least 25 lbs repeatedly.
- An interest in learning repair methods and tools for agricultural machinery.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work hard.
