About the role#
This co-op position offers the chance to work alongside our R&D team to develop, implement, and improve packaging systems for medical devices. You will help ensure our products meet design specifications while focusing on quality and cost. This role involves exposure to various operations and product support departments within the company, providing insight into the regulatory requirements of the medical device industry.
What you'll do#
- Determine packaging requirements for sterile and non-sterile medical devices.
- Identify materials and develop packaging configurations.
- Conduct process validation protocols (OQ/PQ), design verification activities, and shelf-life studies.
- Improve current packaging methods and identify opportunities for sustainable packaging and cost savings.
- Assist in identifying new packaging technologies to enhance processes.
- Generate documentation for packaging and processes, including engineering protocols and reports.
- Investigate root causes for sterile barrier packaging failures and create action plans for retesting or improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Packaging Engineering or a related field, with sophomore or junior standing.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 out of 4.0.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship.
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Technical writing skills and experience developing protocols to qualify design changes.
