About the role#
This is a 12-month co-op position starting in January 2027. You will join the Research and Development team to support the design, prototyping, and manufacturing transfer of medical devices. The role involves direct participation in clinical research studies and the regulatory approval process.
What you'll do#
- Build and test prototypes using 3D modeling.
- Create and run verification and validation tests to confirm design requirements.
- Prepare regulatory filings for government agencies.
- Support clinical trials and coordinate with external suppliers and clinicians.
- Write technical documentation, including drawings and work instructions.
- Ensure all work follows ISO 13485 and FDA compliance standards.
- Maintain a focus on patient safety and product quality in every task.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering program.
- Experience in a lab or engineering test environment using standard measurement tools.
- Practical experience with product design, testing, or development through internships, co-ops, or projects.
- Ability to write clear technical documentation.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and Minitab is preferred.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN, and ISO 13485 standards is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a diverse team.

- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with three to four days per week in the office.
- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
