About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Boston Medical Center, you will support our inpatient pharmacy team while completing the practice hours required for your pharmacy education and licensure. You will work directly under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide patient-focused services and gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform supportive practice functions within the pharmacy department.
- Work proactively with pharmacists to learn about medication usage.
- Interact with hospital staff, patients, families, and visitors.
- Maintain the competency levels required to perform essential duties.
- Provide high quality care to patients.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma.
- Current registration as a full-time student in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license from the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to read and follow complex written or verbal instructions.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
- The ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and pay close attention to detail.
