About the role#
BorgWarner is seeking a year-round Validation Intern to join the Environmental Validation groups at the Kokomo Technical Center. This role supports the validation of ECUs for internal combustion engines as well as components for hybrid and electric vehicles. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with validation laboratory setup and execution, including connecting devices under test to equipment or coolant lines, moving equipment racks, and supporting test configurations.
- Build, modify, and verify automotive wiring harnesses ranging from 20AWG to 3/0, and electrical load boxes.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of test benches, hardware, software, and networking issues within the lab.
- Assist Validation Operations Engineers with workflow documentation, application administration, asset tracking, and ad hoc requests.
- Perform general lab support tasks such as organizing equipment, moving materials, and maintaining work areas.
- Support system monitoring, including the creation of simple batch scripts for routine task automation, PC builds, and software installation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, or recent graduation.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Experience working with hand tools or power tools.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
