About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern for Nuclear Systems, you will contribute to the design of mechanical equipment and systems used in our facilities. This role involves supporting engineering teams through hands-on project work and technical analysis.
What you'll do#
- Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
- Prepare basic calculations and assist in equipment selection.
- Analyze systems using computer modeling tools.
- Support engineering analyses and report production.
- Coordinate with other disciplines and manage project deliverable schedules.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate project data.
- Maintain and file project materials and references.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited university studying Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Ability to pass pre-employment onboarding requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
- Preferred: Coursework in fluids and thermodynamics.
- Preferred: Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Preferred: Proficiency with computer software.

- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
