About the role#
As a Structural Engineer Intern in the Federal department, you will contribute to critical infrastructure projects. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering design and analysis while working alongside project teams in Overland Park.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of design specifications and contract drawings.
- Perform various tasks to assist with engineering analyses, report production, and design work.
- Prepare basic calculations.
- Analyze systems using computer modeling software.
- Organize and maintain project materials and technical references.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program.
- Preferred emphasis in Structural Engineering.
- Completion of at least one design course is preferred.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
- Ability to pass pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug screen.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The position is based on-site in Overland Park, Kansas.
