About the role#
This is a 6-month co-op position running from January to June 2027. You will join the Antibody Discovery group within the Biodesign division to support neurodegenerative disease research programs. You will work with a cross-functional team to help reach drug discovery milestones.
What you'll do#
- Characterize antibody drug candidates from primary and optimization campaigns.
- Perform in vitro experiments to biophysically characterize antibody candidates.
- Validate clinical targets for cell-specific drug delivery in neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disease indications.
- Participate in discovery and optimization campaigns to nominate lead biologic drug candidates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited PhD or Master's degree program in Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years of age by the start date.
- Experience with cell culture, sterile technique, and molecular cloning methods.
- Proficiency in molecular biological techniques including PCR, qRT-PCR, and DNA/RNA extraction.
- Experience with plate-based protein binding assays like ELISA and MSD, plus flow cytometry.
- Preferred: Experience with biophysical protein binding characterization such as SPR or BLI.
- Optional: Experience with Python libraries, HPC environments, machine learning model training, or AI/ML de novo protein design.
