About the role#
This is a 6-month co-op position running from January to June 2027. You will join the Pharmacometrics team within the Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics (CPP) department. The team uses quantitative modeling and simulation to support drug development decisions, from early research through regulatory approval. You will work on projects at the intersection of quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP), artificial intelligence, and model-based meta-analysis (MBMA) within the autoimmune therapeutic area.
What you'll do#
- Build and refine mechanistic QSP models to support drug discovery and development.
- Explore how AI and machine learning tools can improve QSP modeling workflows.
- Perform Model-Based Meta-Analyses (MBMA) to generate evidence for portfolio strategy.
- Analyze and interpret preclinical and clinical data to inform model development.
- Learn and apply industry-standard data handling and modeling rules.
- Create internal presentations on your work progress.
- Prepare posters and manuscripts for external publication.
- Assist the CPP team with additional tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a Ph.D. candidate (3rd year or above) with experience in quantitative, computational, or mechanistic modeling. We also consider candidates with a Master’s degree or Pharm.D. who have demonstrated experience in modeling, data analysis, or computational biology.
- Proficiency in R, Python, MATLAB, or similar scientific computing tools.
- Experience analyzing biological, preclinical, clinical, or omics datasets.
- Familiarity with meta-analysis, evidence synthesis, or related quantitative methods.
- Strong quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and be at least 18 years old.
- Enrollment in an accredited academic institution.
