The Post Office Student Worker supports the Finance and Operations department by managing the flow of mail and packages across campus. This role requires moving between locations, including indoor, outdoor, and occasional driving duties, and involves physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds. This is a part-time position requiring 3-5 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Pick up interoffice and incoming mail from the Bethel Post Office and deliver it to department mail stops.
- Retrieve mail from department mail stops and return it to the Bethel Post Office.
- Drop off outgoing USPS mail at the New Brighton Post Office Annex once daily.
- Check incoming packages into the campus computer system and organize them for student and staff pickup or delivery.
- Verify identities and distribute packages to recipients.
- Provide basic customer service for common inquiries and issues.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current Bethel student.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, specifically typing and scanning.
- Ability to work independently and maintain punctuality.
