About the role#
Student Custodians work independently to maintain the cleanliness of residence halls during the weekends while full-time staff are off campus. This role supports the campus environment by ensuring common areas remain clean and well-maintained. Employees in this position contribute to the development of students as whole and holy persons in alignment with the university mission.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine custodial tasks including dusting, vacuuming, and mopping.
- Clean bathrooms and sanitize kitchens, laundry rooms, and other common areas.
- Follow written instructions and maintain established cleaning standards.
- Communicate effectively through text, email, and shared spreadsheets.
- Assist in the mentorship of students to uphold community commitments.
What you'll need#
- Must be a current student.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable and dependable with consistent attendance.
- Ability to stand and walk for at least 4 consecutive hours.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, as well as bend, kneel, and climb stairs.
- Willingness to work with cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
Location & details#
- Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: On-site in campus residence halls.
- Schedule: Flexible shifts, primarily on weekends, with a minimum commitment of one 4-hour shift per week. Limited weekday shifts are available for specific locations.
