About the role#
As an intern in our Technology Risk Assurance practice, you will work alongside experienced team members to solve problems and gather facts. This role provides a hands-on perspective on our firm practices and offers opportunities to build professional relationships. You will receive direction and coaching throughout the summer to support your career development.
What you'll do#
- Document and test application and automated controls across various software packages.
- Participate in internal control reviews based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
- Assist in preparing audit reports and recommendations for IS audit work.
- Perform walkthroughs of client controls and prepare workpapers in the required format.
- Develop and maintain relationships with client personnel and management.
- Conduct client interviews to obtain information for non-complex clients.
- Apply IS audit principles and guidelines to non-complex client environments.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and follow instructions from the Assurance Team.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
- Preferred: Pursuing a Masters in Information Systems or a relevant advanced degree.
- Preferred: Prior internship or work-study experience in information systems and operational auditing.
- Preferred: Past leadership experience.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to industry ERP applications.
