About the role#
BDO Canada is hiring a Co-op student or Intern for the Financial Reporting & Insights team in Halifax. This is a full-time position for the Winter 2027 term, running from January to April. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment.
What you'll do#
- Prepare financial statements for Notice to Reader and Review engagements.
- Create working files for income tax and information returns for clients of various sizes.
- Manage ongoing accounting analysis and assignments according to established procedures.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients by responding to their requests and suggestions.
- Assist other departments with various accounting functions as needed.
- Communicate progress updates and project issues to your team on a regular basis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accounting degree or diploma program.
- An interest in long-term growth within the Financial Reporting & Insights team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communication skills.
- Experience or certifications with software such as Quickbooks, Xero, or Sage are an asset.
