Co-op/Intern – Forensic Disputes & Investigation (FDI)

About the role#

Join the Forensic Disputes & Investigation (FDI) team at BDO Canada for a Winter 2027 internship. This role offers hands-on experience in investigative and forensic accounting, including fraud investigations, commercial insurance claims, and litigation support. You will work alongside a national team of specialists to develop a forensic mindset and sharpen your analytical and financial modeling skills.

What you'll do#

• Support relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Examine financial records and documentation, analyze financial data, and build financial models.
• Conduct economic and industry research to support forensic engagements.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial and loss quantification models.
• Assist in drafting clear, concise reports and presentations for clients.
• Participate in meetings with engagement teams to plan work and deliver client service.
• Support business development activities and internal practice initiatives.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a post-secondary program specializing in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related fields.
• Intention of pursuing the CPA designation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a team environment.
