About the role#
BDO Canada is hiring a Co-op or Intern student for our Expatriate Tax team in Windsor. This is a full-time, 4-month role starting in January 2027. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience by applying your academic accounting knowledge to real client files under the guidance of senior team members.
What you'll do#
- Prepare Canadian and US personal tax returns and foreign reporting forms.
- Assist with voluntary disclosures and the review of share-based compensation plans.
- Conduct and present research on various expatriate tax issues.
- Draft technical memorandums for clients.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding tax matters.
- Develop project management skills by tracking timelines, monitoring time spent on files, and providing status updates to senior staff.
- Assist in the creation of client consulting project plans.
- Participate in client entrance and exit interviews alongside tax managers.

- Current enrollment in an accounting degree or diploma program.

- Compensation: $48,000 - $58,000.
