About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an intern for the Internal Audit Quality Assurance and Improvement Program. This is a paid, full-time opportunity for graduate students to gain professional experience in development work and corporate management. You will work on-site at our headquarters in Washington D.C. for the Winter 2027 term, specifically from January 16th to March 15th, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Support the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program through ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews to confirm conformance with internal audit standards.
- Assist with quality reviews of the planning phase, focusing on risk assessments and their alignment with engagement objectives.
- Review fieldwork documentation and evidence to confirm completeness and support for audit findings.
- Monitor the implementation of management action plans and track their status.
- Apply data analytics to contribute to continuous improvement efforts and update guidance, tools, and training materials.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active graduate student in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Completion of at least 50% of coursework is required for graduate students.
- Your graduation date must be after the internship period ends.
- You must be a national of an IDB member country.
- Fluency in English is required. A working knowledge of one other Bank language is a plus.
- Proficiency in audit lifecycle concepts, risk assessment, and data analytics tools such as Excel or Power BI is preferred.
