About the role#
BDO Canada is hiring a Co-op or Intern for our Expatriate Tax team in Toronto. This is a 4-month position starting in January 2027. You will gain hands-on experience in tax compliance and consulting while working alongside experienced tax professionals. This is a full-time, paid role.
What you'll do#
- Complete Canadian and US personal tax returns and foreign reporting forms.
- Conduct and present tax research on expatriate tax issues.
- Assist in the review of share-based compensation plans to determine tax implications.
- Develop project management skills by tracking file timelines and status updates.
- Communicate with government agencies and clients regarding tax matters.
- Draft technical memorandums and assist with client consulting projects.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a degree or diploma in accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership abilities and a proactive approach to learning.
- A commitment to providing high-quality client service.

- Compensation: $54,000 - $64,000.
