The BBYO Genesis Fellowship is a two-year program running from August 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028. This fellowship provides an opportunity to gain experience by rotating through various BBYO departments, receiving one-on-one mentorship, and participating in cohort-based professional coaching. Fellows will develop skills in data analysis, leadership, and networking while working to support teen engagement and organizational growth.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with teens in grades 8-12 to create and facilitate impactful, fun, and dynamic programs for local chapters.
- Mentor teen leaders and deliver leadership training.
- Recruit new members to join BBYO and attend summer programs.
- Guide teens in establishing annual calendars to drive engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, parents, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Facilitate the planning process for citywide and regional events, including overnight conventions.
- Manage regional email inboxes and assist with mass communication tools, including newsletters and social media.
- Track regional data regarding membership, prospects, and program logistics.
- Staff a summer leadership program for 2-3 weeks during the summer.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 0-3 years of work or volunteer experience.
- Experience working with youth or teens in a camp or youth organization environment is preferred.
- General knowledge of the Jewish culture and calendar.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to travel as needed to attend regional conventions, major events, and staff conferences.
- Access to reliable transportation for timely arrival at events.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time position located in the United States.
- Placements will be assigned between April 2026 and June 2026.
- Compensation is $47,000–$52,000 annually for year one, with a performance-based raise potential in year two.
