About the role#
The BBYO Genesis Fellowship is a two-year program running from August 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028. This fellowship provides an opportunity to gain experience by rotating through various departments, receiving one-on-one mentorship, and participating in cohort-based coaching. Fellows work directly with teens to foster leadership skills and coordinate meaningful community programming.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with teens in grades 8-12 to create impactful programs for local chapters.
- Mentor teen leaders and deliver leadership training.
- Recruit new members and encourage participation in summer programs.
- Facilitate the planning process for citywide and regional events, including overnight conventions.
- Manage regional email inboxes and assist with mass communication tools, such as newsletters and social media.
- Track regional data, including membership numbers, prospects, and program logistics.
- Build and maintain relationships with volunteers, parents, and community partners.
- Staff a summer leadership program for 2-3 weeks each summer.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree or higher.
- 0-3 years of work or volunteer experience.
- Experience with youth or teens in a youth organization or camp environment is preferred.
- General knowledge of Jewish culture and the Jewish calendar.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication, networking, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for regional conventions, major events, and staff conferences.
- Access to reliable transportation for timely arrival at events.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located within the United States. Placements will be assigned between April 2026 and June 2026.
- The annual salary is $47,000-$52,000, with a performance-based raise potential in the second year.
- This is a full-time, paid fellowship.
