About the role#
The Advancement Events Program Assistant serves alongside the Director of Events and Communication to support fundraising efforts and community programs at Mission Waco. This role involves a mix of event planning, content creation, and administrative support for children and youth programs. This is a federal work-study position requiring reliable transportation for off-campus work.
What you'll do#
- Capture photos and create highlight videos at Mission Waco programs and special events.
- Assist in the planning and execution of five major fundraisers, including the Annual Celebration Banquet, Golf Tournament, Race ONE 5K, Fashion with a Passion Style Show, and Champions of Service Luncheon.
- Create content for social media regarding events, sponsorships, and annual campaign strategies.
- Provide daily clerical and operational support for children and youth programs, including the after-school program and the annual Toy Store event.
What you'll need#
- Eligibility for federal work-study.
- Ability to operate a DSLR or 4K camera.
- Proficiency in video editing using Adobe Premier.
- Experience creating content on design platforms.
- Social media knowledge is preferred.
- A flexible attitude and the ability to stay organized.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with some availability required for evening and weekend events.
- Compensation: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour.
