About the role#
This position supports elementary students with reading and homework assistance through the Communities in Schools (CIS) program. Tutors work directly with students to improve academic performance while maintaining documentation of services provided. This role is reserved for Baylor University students who are eligible for Federal Work Study.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with the CIS Volunteer Director to schedule and implement tutoring services.
- Assist students with reading and homework assignments.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with students and CIS staff.
- Ensure program objectives are met according to contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation for all students.
- Attend required meetings, professional trainings, and other CIS functions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University with Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Preferred majors include Psychology, Sociology, Communications, or Human Resources.
