About the role#
This position supports elementary students with reading and homework assistance. Tutors work with the Communities in Schools of the Heart of Texas program to help students meet academic objectives. This role requires attendance at periodic meetings and professional trainings, as well as the completion of detailed service logs for each student.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate with the CIS Volunteer Director on scheduling and the implementation of tutoring services.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with all students.
- Ensure CIS program objectives are met according to contractual requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of student progress and service hours.
- Attend all required meetings, trainings, and functions associated with CIS.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Baylor University with Federal Work Study eligibility.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Computer proficiency.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
