About the role#
Barnes Aerospace is hiring a Continuous Improvement Intern to work at our Warren, Michigan site. This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling start date. You will work directly with the Continuous Improvement Manager on daily operations and process initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Write standardized manufacturing routing instructions and create work instruction redlines.
- Resolve product non-conformance issues by coordinating with the disposition team and updating manufacturing order rework instructions.
- Support process improvement initiatives focused on cost, schedule, and quality.
- Modify tooling designs to improve production efficiency.
- Generate inspection work instructions and reports for customer review.
- Review technical data revision status and upload documents to the company technical library.
- Assist with other operational duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- Capacity to manage your own schedule and organize tasks in a deadline-driven setting.
- Experience with MS Office is preferred.
- Previous experience with power or hand tools, measurement devices, or CAD software is a plus.
