About the role#
Barnes Aerospace is hiring a Purchasing Intern for our West Chester, Ohio site. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling term. You will work on-site and collaborate across our global purchasing, planning, IT, legal, and HR teams.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data related to PO metrics, spend, RFQs, and market indices.
- Support the implementation of our global Approved Supplier List and supplier portal.
- Maintain supply chain data and ensure overall accuracy.
- Assist with supplier contract reviews, analysis, and negotiations.
- Help create customer evaluations and scorecards for the Farnborough airshow.
- Manage the supply chain standard work, training, and skills matrix.
- Complete specific internship projects and present your findings to leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising junior or senior in an accredited college or university. Preferred majors include Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in Excel, including V-lookups, Pivot tables, What-If analysis, and Power Query.
- Familiarity with basic Power BI functions.
- A willingness to learn Articulate 360 software for training creation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks effectively in a schedule-driven environment.
- An interest in lean enterprise principles and automation opportunities.
