About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring for a Personal Lines Underwriting Internship for the summer of 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Broomfield, Colorado. We are looking for students who are currently enrolled in college and entering their junior or senior year. Please note that you must be able to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Learn insurance coverages, contracts, company philosophy, and procedures.
- Become familiar with company policies, manuals, forms, and endorsements.
- Analyze loss experience, financial conditions, and physical characteristics of risks.
- Gain a working knowledge of the different sections within the underwriting department.
- Communicate effectively with independent agents and other staff members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- Ability to organize data, manage multiple tasks, and make independent decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to resolve complex issues.
- Interest in developing product knowledge through participation in educational programs.
