About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Tallahassee, Florida. You will work with our team to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss.
What you'll do#
- Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site visits.
- Gather facts to determine policy coverage and analyze legal liability.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and decide to pay or deny claims.
- Issue payments accurately and on time.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your knowledge.
- Assist with the resolution of claims, which may include attending depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.
- Support the needs of policyholders and agents.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, specifically entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, or Criminal Justice.
- Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to organize data and manage multiple assignments.
- Capability to resolve complex issues.

- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
