About the role#
Auto-Owners Insurance is hiring a Claims Representative Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Broomfield, Colorado. You will work within our claims department to help individuals and businesses recover after a loss.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage.
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability.
- Pay or deny losses based on your investigation.
- Issue claims payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Handle investigations through phone calls, mail, and on-site visits.
- Study insurance policies, endorsements, and forms to build your technical knowledge.
- Assist with the resolution of claims, which may include attending mediations, arbitrations, depositions, or trials.
- Support the needs of agents and policyholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in college, entering your junior or senior year.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Criminal Justice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and interpret data to resolve complex issues.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

- Compensation: Starting hourly rate of $21.00 with bonus eligibility.
